Hanami 2017

Hello everyone~
Spring is about to spring soon and of course what else would herald it in but cherry blossoms? We’re headed to the Japanese Gardens at Auburn to check out the pretty flowers and get some A++ photo ops~

We’ll also be having a picnic near the flowers – we’ll be supplying a little bit of barbecue food but please bring some stuff to share as well! We’ll supply a few picnic blankets but we can’t promise to have enough for everyone so if you have one we do recommend bringing it. We’ll go through the gardens in small groups, and we’ll have all sorts of games to keep you entertained in the meantime~

If you go to SMASH, or wear a yukata/cosplay, you even get free entry to the gardens! Otherwise, it’s $3 for entry.
You can catch the train with some execs from Central at 10:57 if you want a hand getting there!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TL;DR
WHAT: Cherry Blossom viewing!
WHEN: Saturday 26th August, 2016, 12pm
WHERE: Auburn Botanical Gardens
COST: Either free or $3, depending on your dress or actual desire to enter the garden
See you there~
Hello From a New World
July 31, 2016, by , posted in Admin
Spring is here and time for some cleaning, so I cleaned it all up! Complete redesign, complete rewrite (that was a good game) in a very SASSy way.
So whats new? The front end look, obviously, cleaner look, more intuitive feel, and nice animations and transitions. Thats pretty much all you mortals will see.
The backend though is where the fun is at. Now introducing SASS, a CSS pre-processor that allows web designers and developers to create a lot more robust CSS files. By using partials, variables, and combining them all into modules, and then extending or including them where needed – beautiful. This modulation allows for better code readability, testing and re-usability. So future webmaster, whoever you may be, please keep it nice and clean with the foundation I have laid out here for you.
Well I hope you all enjoy your time here, and see your at out next event.
Hey guys! We’ve kept you waiting for a while, but we’re finally having our first AnimeSydney event this year – a grueling full day Orientation Amazing Race!!
For those who aren’t familiar with AnimeSydney, we’re an organisation formed from a few of the awesome university anime clubs located within Sydney :) come to our Amazing Race to form new friendships in random teams of 4, or create some new frenemies from other universities in a mad dash to victory! And what does victory get you? Honour, and some pretty sweet prizes :D and exercise, for those who don’t get enough because they’re usually locked in their room watching anime :)
Cost: $2 for any members of anime@UTS, AnimeUNSW, SUanime or AnimeMQ (Don’t worry, you can sign up on the day)
Location: Central Park Green (The park behind the shopping centre) and all over the city!
Time: 10:00am-6:00pm, then dinner after at Central Park
The event may change, so keep an eye out! Stuff like rain, hail, hurricanes and volcanoes may delay the event~
Anime Christmas party 2015 Review and Photos
December 16, 2015, by , posted in Events
It’s that time of the year again, when it’s the season to be jolly, and eternal summer is upon us. But in the mist of it all, there was AnimeSydney’s annual Christmas party for y’all. We hope everyone had a great time, cause we did!
This yea was a definitely a milestone for AnimeSydney, as we had over 450 people attend the party. This is the largest number we have ever had, and it’s all thanks to you \o/ *hugs*. The UTS Underground and food court were filled with events and entertainment. We had a Smash Bros competition in the lounge, merch table and cosplay photoshoot next to the bar, and a mini christmas tree there as well. Up on stage we had our bands preform some live tunes, then there was trivia and the cosplay parade/competition. In the food court we had a variety of events for people to enjoy: origami at the art table, a giant wall scroll to doodle on, secret santa and a swap table; then gingerman wasabi roulette, the Hearthstone competition, Pokemon competition, W&S competition, some board games here and there and at the end an authentic Japanese shrine, where you could pray to the panda gods, and draw your fortune for the new year.
Big shout out to all the AnimeSydney sponsors, for helping us out with prizes, discounts, merch and other stuff throughout the year, and of course, during the party itself.
Xmas Party-019
Of course we must say thanks to our bands, Hyper Oats and Unikon, for playing some sweet anime tunes whilst we partied! If you liked what you heard, we’d recommend you check our their facebooks: Hyper Oats; Unikon.
We hope you guys enjoyed our trivia too, we heard lots of discussion going on between the teams. Of course congratulations to the lucky winners!
And a big shout out to all you gorgeous cosplayers, it truly made the event feel like we are all in one giant anime with all the characters combined.
Xmas Party-062
And most of all thanks to everyone who came to the party! Whether you came in some awesome cosplay or just dressed up as yourself this whole event couldn’t have been possible without its most important component, its attendees!
So on that note, from everyone at anime@UTS, AnimeUNSW, SUAnime, AnimeMQ and (ACU???) thank you all for coming! Hope you guys all have a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and we’ll see you next year!
